StairSmith for iOS & iPad
Effective: April 27, 2026
StairSmith collects nothing. There is no account, no cloud, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. Your projects live only on your device.
Nothing. StairSmith does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information, usage data, device identifiers, or location data.
The stair projects you create and your app preferences (default units, default building code) are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard frameworks:
UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device. If you delete StairSmith, your projects and preferences are deleted with it.
When you tap "Export PDF" or use the iOS share sheet, your stair calculation is converted to a PDF and handed to iOS for sharing. What happens after that depends on which app or destination you choose (Mail, Messages, Files, AirDrop, Print, etc.). StairSmith itself never uploads anything.
StairSmith may, after your first PDF export and a brief delay, ask whether you'd like to leave an App Store review. This is the standard Apple-provided review prompt; StairSmith does not learn what you choose, what rating you leave, or whether you wrote a review.
StairSmith is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone — children or otherwise — because it does not collect any data at all.
If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future version adds optional iCloud sync), we'll update this page and the in-app About section, and we'll only collect data with your explicit consent.
